A set of dividers with blunted tips can be a frustrating tool to use. It seems every time I traveled with my tools, something would knock into my dividers and raise a burr, making them hard to use.
So I worked with a local leather worker, Wilboro, to come up with a solution to my woes - The Point Guard. These guards are made from Italian veg-tanned leather in beautiful Rich Green and have waxed edges. The stitching slopes up slightly to help hold the dividers in place. Simply slide the points of your dividers in and open them until they come to rest on the stitching for a tenacious fit.
They also happen to do a great job at sheathing a variety of chisels 12mm (1/2”) and smaller. Made one at a time in Ottawa, Canada.
